Saddle Stitch

YotsumeToji

This is a Japanese bookbinding strategy where 4 holes are made near one edge. Then it is stitched in a specific way to obtain a hand bound book.

Perfect Binding

Many books released using makers are best bound. You can do this by hand also. This is what you do. All the signatures are held firmly. The spinal column is roughed up and glue is used. After the glue dries, it is used one more time and the paper cover is connected.

Hardcover Binding

In this method, a thick cardboard is used as cover. Initially, the signatures are stitched and glue is used. 2 additional documents are connected on the top and bottom of this book. Glue is used on the outer pages as well as on the spinal column. Now the cover is connected and kept under pressure to form a hardbound book.

Coptic Binding

Another method which is very old is Coptic binding. In this method the spinal column of the book is exposed. 2 covers are put on the leading and bottom and straight stitched. The spinal column will not be harmed even if you link the 2 covers back to back.
